First Year of Teaching
Where to begin?
I feel like I can make this post super long because I can say a lot of things, but let’s just keep it short and sweet.
My first teaching year. Wow, what a year it has been.
I started out in October/November supply teaching and was incredibly blessed to have been offered a Long-Term Occasional (LTO) position as a virtual Kindergarten teacher in January. Virtual teaching scared me, no, even HAVING my own class scared me.
A part of me was excited to have this incredible opportunity AND a kinder class nonetheless. But the other part was incredible scared that I was not ready yet to take on my own class.
But man, God is so good. His timing is perfect.
I was blessed with an incredibly sweet and wonderful class. My teaching partner was a joy to work with. While it was at times stressful (hello report cards!) and tiring (welcome to the world of never ending planning), I would not change it for the world.
I have learned SO much over the year. Those kiddos put a smile on my face every day.
It’s a bittersweet day today, the last day of school, as I write this short post. Glad for an amazing first year of teaching and of course the summer break, but sad because I will miss those smiling faces popping up on my screen every day.
Thankful. Grateful.
Sending love! Here’s to more wonderful teaching years ahead!
XO
