A SPRINKLE OF LIGHT
A SPRINKLE OF LIGHT

Dearest Family and Friends,

As we gather in the warmth of this holiday season, our hearts are filled with gratitude for the blessings and peace that God has graciously given us throughout this year. In the midst of uncertainties, His joy has been our steadfast companion, surpassing every difficulty.

Monty has continued his journey of service, splitting his time between Canada and Indonesia. In Canada, he passionately imparts wisdom through teaching the Heidelberg Catechism at IRECT and led multiple small groups inspired by Tim Keller's "Every Good Endeavour." Meanwhile, in Indonesia, he plays a significant role in establishing a financial fundraising program at Sekolah Kristen Ketapang (SKK) and dedicates time to his church. Monty also continues working part-time in the hospital helping the Department of Medicine. As busy as this sounds, God blesses him with time for plenty of travelling adventures. His travels took him to Japan alongside his sister Farah and niece Kezia, as well as to Europe, Singapore, and Hong Kong with his new partner, Ingrid.

Kimberly’s heartwarming impact on young lives continues to unfold. After completing a term teaching a class of students with exceptionalities, she embraced the challenge of another school year, being met with even more affectionate greetings from students in hallways. Kim had the opportunity to visit a couple of places in the States this year, including venturing to Kansas City twice to reconnect with cousins who recently moved there from Malaysia—they had such a great time exploring their new town together and spending some much needed quality time. Embracing all the opportunities and challenges she can, Kim is splitting time between different schools and is still heavily involved in the church’s English service ministry.

For Jen and Adriel, 2023 marks their son Teddy’s first birthday in March of this year. Teddy continues to be such a radiant source of joy in their lives and they are so thankful to God for him. Teddy's infectious sociability has endeared him to teachers and parents alike at his new daycare. Returning to work in May, Jen continues to find much fulfilment in her contributions to the hospital's finance and budgeting efforts. This advent season, Jen, Kim, and Adriel helped their team at church organize a joyous Christmas dinner with over 50 attendees from the English ministry. Jen continues her role as liturgist at church, while Adriel led a men's group exploring R.C. Sproul's profound insights in "The Holiness of God."

As we reflect on our journey, we acknowledge the worries that occasionally keep us awake at night. Life, by its nature, presents challenges. Yet, we find solace in turning to God, who assures us of enduring peace. May the gifts of joy and peace overflow in your lives this Christmas season.

Merry Christmas to you and your loved ones!

Warmest Wishes,
Monty, Kimberly, Jennifer, Adriel, and Teddy
