To the Best Dad...

Happy Father’s Day to the best dad!
I will never forget when I was younger and I was scared, whether it was because of a movie I watched or a play or something else, my dad would come and sleep with me in my bed until I fesell asleep.
I know that there are so many great dads out there, but I’d like to share with all of you a little bit of why my dad inspires me.
I am always inspired by how dad walks his daily life with the Lord. He doesn’t just talk the talk, but he walks the walk. He never fails to do his devotions everyday, prays, and so involved with the church.
I’ve been listening to this song by Vertical Worship and the lyrics of the song goes like this:
“Yes I will, lift You high in the lowest valley
Yes I will, bless Your name
Oh, yes I will, sing for joy when my heart is heavy
All my days, oh, yes I will”
My dad lives those lyrics, especially these past couple of months. Even in the lowest valley, he continues to bless His name. Jen and I see how he lives out his faith at home, at work, outside of work, at church, with others, etc. and for that we are thankful to have a role model like that in our lives.
I also look up to him in how he (and my mom) parents Jen and I - how loving, supportive and involved he is in our lives. When I was little I definitely didn’t see it, but as I grow older, I am so appreciative more and more of my parents, how they raised me, and the sacrifices they’ve made for both Jen and I.
Last (an important lesson learned) - how my dad was with mom. Thank you dad, for teaching us what love means. I know the last couple of years (and especially months) have not been easy, but we see how much you loved mom. And that impacts me, us more than you know.
We see how you never complained ONCE taking her to all her doctor appointments, chemo, tests. Waking up super early in the morning to make juice for her every single day, no matter how tired you are. How you knew and kept up with all the medication she had to eat every day. How you would subway and walk to her work (even though her office was further away from yours) when she was getting weaker and couldn’t go by herself. Did devotions with her every morning, did all these little things that other people would have complained about, spent time with her. You both taught us what it means by “for better, for worse, for richer, for poorer, in sickness and health, to love and to cherish, until we are parted by death”.
Thank you for being you and I pray that God continues to bless you and keep you healthy for many many many many years to come.
Love you!
AND Happy Father’s Day to all the other dads out there! <3
